Memorial and Tribute Gifts

Special people deserve special recognition.

The Chillicothe-Ross Community Foundation can help you to recognize special people who have made a difference in your life and the life of the community. Donations can be made as a tribute or memorial to an individual, family, organization, etc. Special funds can also be created to handle specific tributes and memorials.

Tribute Gifts
Donors give to the Chillicothe-Ross Community Foundation for many reasons when they wish to honor an individual, family, organization, etc. Some have given in recognition of a special teacher, to honor a 50th wedding anniversary, to celebrate the holiday season, to say thank you to community members for work on a specific project, etc.

Contributions may be made to any existing funds in order to do many things:

  • celebrate and honor a living person
  • memorialize persons at the time of their death
  • celebrate anniversaries
  • recognize special birthdays
  • say thank you for a job well done
  • for no reason at all- other than to benefit your community!

Memorial Gifts
If you are currently facing a loved one's death consider memorializing them through the establishment of a fund or by giving a gift to the Community Foundation. You may be content to ask that contributions in lieu of flowers be made to a specific fund at the Community Foundation. Or, you may want to create a fund that will bear your loved one's name.

Here are some suggested ways to honor the spirit and character of your loved one:

Did they have a strong allegiance to a specific school?
A memorial gift could help to maintain an after school program or provide much needed materials for the library. Or maybe the best legacy would be a scholarship awarded each year in your loved one's name to a student at that school.

Did they love to work outdoors?
Perhaps a memorial to help an environmental effort or building project would be appropriate to honor their memory.

Did they have an appreciation for the arts?
Perhaps you would like to consider encouraging memorial gifts to a fund that will pass along their love for theater, pottery, dance, classical music, etc.

The Chillicothe-Ross Community Foundation is grateful for contributions made in memory of friends and loved ones who have passed away. Remembrances contributed to funds within the Community Foundation are a fitting tribute to those who have enriched our lives and our community. These are truly gifts that keep on giving.
